Joy’s hands were bound to her collar behind her neck. She wore a blindfold, and could not see the riding crop Jake had laid out on the bed to wait for her. He had positioned the venus butterfliy vibrator against her body, it’s vaginal penetrator inserted, but now…

“Just a minute, Joy. I can’t figure out…” The two pink straps had to go around her legs somehow, but when he fastened them on, they didn’t seem to hold the butterfly in place. Were they on wrong somehow?

“Damn it! Maybe they go the other way!” Joy stood, waiting paitently, as the mood Jake had worked so hard to develop drained steadily from the room…

Jake’s Thoughts: Usually I write some sort of fictional vignette to introduce one of our reviews and illustrate how a product can be used. However, in this case there’s no ficton involved. The above is drawn straight from life, and while it’s not quoted word-for-word, it pretty much sums up our second experience using the Cloud 10 Venus Butterfly.

The concept of the Cloud 10 is a great one, and that’s what originally made me buy it to try out. As a dominant, I would love to have a vibrator that I could place on Joy that would give her good stimulation without requiring me to hold it in place. This would maintain a high degree of excitiment in Joy, while at the same time allowing me more freedom to be able to perform all kinds of other, complimentary activities.

Sadly, the execution does not live up to the concept. While the vibrator itself seems to be well made, with both anal and vaginal inserts, direct clitoral stimulation, and a wired remote control unit that allows for a variety of speeds and functions, the key point of failure is the straps. They are, in a word, cheap, made of narrow elastic that simply doesn’t hold the unit securely enough in place to be effective. They are also prone to twist or tangle, and frankly, they’re pretty confusing to figure out how to position. That’s what happened to us in the scene I illustrated above–without the directions handy, I never did figure out how to attach the darned thing.

So, while this is a good idea, we can’t recommend the device itself–it simply doesn’t work very well. Perhaps someone else will come up with a better hands-free vibrator, or maybe the manufacturer will decide to improve the straps on this model.

Joy’s Thoughts: Jake and I have tried this little pink gadget together twice. The first time we did get it strapped on and into all of the right places. However, we attempted to use it as a hands-free device as the packaging and instructions showed, and the results were very disappointing. The flimsy elastic straps seemed to be just for show; no matter how much we tightened them up, they never held the toy firmly and deeply enough for it to be anything more than a superficial teaser. I found it to be very frustrating and we gave up.

The second time we tried to use this toy we couldn’t remember how the little straps were supposed to attach to each other. After a few minutes of trying (which seemed to take forever), we just gave up rather than kill the mood and went on to something else.

A few nights later, I tried the thing out by myself. I would say that it is much better for self-satisfaction (I really hate the “m” word) than for couples play. I cut those useless little straps off and tossed them in the trash. When inserted front and back and lined up with my clit, the stimulation is quite strong and satisfying. I like that there are different speed and pulse controls for front and back. However, this is not a hands-free device; I had to keep it pressed to myself with one hand.

This toy shows great promise, but I was never actually ready to reach a climax because it is rather loud. It may seem ridiculous given everything else that Jake and I are into, but I just cannot do certain things in front of him. I am eager to try it on myself again, but I will make sure that Jake is out of the house for the evening.

The pink color is nice, but the vibrator itself is odd-looking, and the straps look cheap

Vibrator unit itself is well made, but the straps are flimsy

Though it's a little loud, the vibrator does okay as long as it's held in place by hand, but as a hands-free device, this is nearly useless
Funwww.dyerware.comwww.dyerware.comwww.dyerware.comwww.dyerware.comwww.dyerware.com
This might rank high on the frustrating scale, but as far as fun goes, it doesn't score well
