Jake’s Thoughts: Adam and Eve bills itself as the oldest retailer of sex toys in the USA, and I, for one, remember them going back at least 20 years. Back then they sent a catalog through the mail, and they probably still will if you want them to, but these days the way to buy from them is online. Within their sex toy specialty, they have a large selection, so if you’re looking for a vibrator or something similar, you’ll have a lot of options to choose from.
However, they also seem to compete a lot on price, and perhaps consequently, they don’t carry many of the higher-quality toys I’ve found other places. Both Joy and I have separately reached the same conclusion about the products we’ve ordered from them–they usually look better in the pictures online than they do once you receive them. Because of this, we now tend to shy away from Adam and Eve. I guess I’d say that if you’re looking for something inexpensive, they’re a good place to look, but if you’re looking for something that is high-quality, you should look elsewhere. And when it comes to sex toys, high quality is worth spending dollars for, IMHO.
Adam and Eve also offers a selection of lingerie (and this also fits under the category of inexpensive…for a reason), as well as a few entry-level bondage items. If you are already buying a sex toy from them it might pay to look over their other offerings in case you find something you like, but it’s really the selection of sex toys that makes this site a destination.
Customer service has always been fine, and shipping times are reasonable. They keep you up to date on order status via email, and orders arrive discreetly packaged, so the mailman won’t give you the fish eye.
In summary, Adam and Eve has been around a long time and apparently caters mostly to a non-bondage crowd that is fairly new to sex toys. The more-experienced folks are likely to follow the same path as Joy and I, and look elsewhere.
